Tell us about yourself and the patient in your life:
We live in Ottawa, Canada.
My daughter Hayden is almost 2 years old. At 9 weeks of age she had her first seizure. From then it’s been trying different medications, and trying to learn what her seizure triggers are. She went a full 10.5 months without seizures, and it was nice to be able to breath. But then they came back.
Hayden is an absolute joy, she is our sunshine. She has the best smile, and the biggest heart – she is so easy going. She isn’t verbal yet nor is she walking. She has a hard time with food and still learning to drink fluids. She loves little miniature toys, fiddling and observing them. She likes to be sung to, and she thinks the breeze is funny and loves being outside. Despite everything, she is the strongest and happiest tot who is beyond loved by her two big sisters, mom and dad.
What is your hope for the future for your loved one:
My dreams are for her seizures to become controlled. For her to always feel loved and to be healthy. I hope she continues to find the joy in the small things and that she never loses her fighting spirit.
